Meet Chelsea Woodworth

Chelsea grew up in a small town near Buffalo, New York, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Buffalo State University. Her early career included roles as a Crime Victim Advocate and an Undercover Private Investigator—positions that took her across the U.S. and internationally.

In 2007, a trip to Arizona inspired a permanent move. She joined the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), where she conducted behavioral analysis and threat assessments of large crowds. While there, she earned multiple awards and later completed a Paralegal Certificate (4.0 GPA) from Phoenix College.

In 2013 Chelsea earned a Certified Paralegal (CP) distinction and then in 2016, she earned a Advanced Certified Paralegal (ACP) distinction.

In 2022, Chelsea was among the first ten professionals in Arizona to earn a Legal Paraprofessional (LP) license in Family Law, and she became the first to hold dual endorsements in both Family and Limited Jurisdiction Civil Law and the first to be endorsed in Limited Jurisdiction Civil Law.

She currently serves on the Arizona Supreme Court’s Board of Nonlawyer Legal Service Providers (NLSP), following her appointment in June of 2022 by the Chief Justice.

Chelsea has helped shape the LP profession through speaking engagements and leadership roles.

She also holds a Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the University of Arizona.

A Different Path to Legal Practice

Chelsea’s path into law was not traditional—but it’s firmly rooted in both education and real-world experience.

She’s worked across a wide range of industries—holding various roles in the service sector before transitioning into victim advocacy, undercover investigations, federal security, and ultimately, the legal field. Along the way, she earned multiple professional certifications and excelled academically, all while working full-time.

Chelsea began her legal career as an entry-level paralegal and, within just two years, advanced to law firm director—overseeing daily operations, managing cases, and serving as the main point of contact for clients. Rather than attending law school, she built her legal expertise through hands-on experience, advanced training, and persistence.

In 2022, Chelsea became one of the first Licensed Legal Paraprofessionals (LPs) in Arizona. She was also the first to receive a Limited Jurisdiction Civil Law endorsement and the first to hold dual endorsements in both Family and Limited Jurisdiction Civil Law.

Her diverse background gives Chelsea a practical, empathetic approach to legal challenges. She understands how overwhelming the legal process can be and is committed to guiding clients through it with clarity, strategy, and care.
